For nearly two hundred years, Ronchamp's heart was beating to the rhythm of the mine. From this glorious past, only memories and regrets remain.
By gently intervening on the landscape, the mining museum opens onto the heart of the village and naturally invites the visitor on a journey linking the mining past and the chapel Notre Dame du Haut : from the depths to the light.

Through a succession of cavities carved into the rock with different atmospheres, the earth is modeled with spaces that sometimes expand or compress, thus creating an underground landscape.
